High cube containers have one distinct advantage, a height of 9’6″ as opposed to 8’6″ on standard shipping containers. This makes these containers ideal for light and bulky cargo.

The most popular standard sizes are 20-ft containers and 40-ft containers so it stands to reason that the most sought-after high cube shipping container sizes would be the same. They contain an enormous amount of internal space, making them the go-to for shipping or storing large items or large amount with a bit of added height.
Why? 20-ft containers are the industry standard length set by the ISO (International Organization for Standardization). 40-ft containers are the second most used in the industry. This makes them the easiest to stack and store.
